Style tips for this shape

Informational and educational purposes only — not medical advice. Body-shape classification and waist-to-hip ratio are rough descriptive guides, not diagnoses. They cannot assess your health, and bodies do not always fit neat categories. If you have health or nutrition concerns, please consult a qualified health professional. All calculations happen in your browser; no data is uploaded or stored.
How does the body shape calculator work?

Enter your bust (or chest), waist, and hip measurements — in centimeters or inches — and the calculator compares the three numbers using two ratios:

  • Bust vs. hips: if the two are within about 5% of each other, your upper and lower body are considered proportional. A gap larger than 5% points to a pear/triangle shape (hips wider) or an inverted triangle/trapezoid shape (bust/chest wider).
  • Waist definition: if your waist is at least 25% smaller than both your bust and hips, you are classified as hourglass (female). If your waist is your largest measurement, the result is oval/round.
  • Waist-to-hip ratio (WHR): waist circumference divided by hip circumference. As general guidance, values under 0.85 for women and under 0.90 for men are commonly cited as lower-risk ranges, but thresholds vary and this is not medical advice.
  • Units: measurements in inches are converted automatically (1 in = 2.54 cm) before comparing.

Classification follows common fashion-industry body-shape conventions. Individual bodies vary widely, and these labels are descriptive shortcuts, not health assessments.
