MAC address vendor lookup

How to use
  1. Paste a MAC address in any common format — colons, dashes, dots or plain hex.
  2. Press Look up. The vendor database (~1.7 MB) downloads once from a CDN and is then used fully offline.
  3. Use Batch lookup to identify many addresses at once.
  • Vendors come from the IEEE OUI registry snapshot bundled with the open-source mac-oui-lookup package (MIT).
  • "Unknown vendor" means the OUI is not in that registry snapshot (unregistered, very new, or locally administered).

Private by design — lookups run entirely in your browser. MAC addresses are never sent anywhere.

About This Tool

Identify Any Device by Its MAC Address

The MAC Address Lookup identifies the vendor behind any network hardware address. Paste a MAC address in any common format (colons, dashes, dots or plain hex) and press Look up. The tool matches the OUI prefix against a vendor database and names the manufacturer.

The vendor database (about 1.7 MB) downloads once from a CDN and is then used fully offline. Vendors come from the IEEE OUI registry snapshot bundled with the open source mac-oui-lookup package (MIT). An "Unknown vendor" result means the OUI is not in that snapshot: unregistered, very new, or locally administered. Private by design: lookups run entirely in your browser and MAC addresses are never sent anywhere. The tool is free and needs no signup.

How to Use the MAC Address Lookup

Three steps to the vendor name.

  1. Paste a MAC address: Any format works: colons, dashes, dots or plain hex.
  2. Press Look up: The OUI prefix is matched against the vendor database.
  3. Read the vendor: See the manufacturer name, or use Batch lookup for many addresses at once.

Understanding MAC Addresses

  • OUI prefix: The first half of a MAC identifies the vendor.
  • IEEE registry: Vendors register OUIs with the IEEE, which publishes the list.
  • Unknown vendor: Means unregistered, very new, or locally administered addresses.
  • Batch mode: Paste many addresses, one per line, to identify them all.

Key Features

  • Any input format: Colons, dashes, dots or plain hex all accepted.
  • Batch lookup: Identify many addresses at once.
  • Offline after first load: The database downloads once, then works fully offline.
  • Open data: IEEE OUI registry via the open source mac-oui-lookup package.
  • Private by design: MAC addresses are never sent anywhere.
