About This Tool
Tune Your Guitar With Your Microphone
The Online Guitar Tuner hears your strings through your device microphone and shows the exact pitch with a live tuning needle. Press Start Tuner, allow microphone access, and play one string at a time. Turn the tuning peg until the needle centers and the note turns green.
Standard, Drop D and Open G presets are included, and you can tap any string's tone button to hear its correct pitch as a reference. Everything runs in your browser. No audio is recorded or uploaded. The tool is free and needs no signup or app install.
How to Use the Guitar Tuner
Three steps to perfect tuning.
- Press Start Tuner: Allow microphone access when your browser asks.
- Play one string at a time: The needle shows how sharp or flat you are, from -50 to +50 cents.
- Turn the peg: Adjust until the needle centers and the note turns green. Repeat for every string.
Tuning Tips
- One string at a time: Mute the other strings so the tuner hears clearly.
- Tune up to pitch: If flat, tune up. If sharp, go below and come back up.
- Use reference tones: Tap the tone button to hear what each string should sound like.
- Quiet room helps: Background noise makes pitch detection harder.
