About This Tool
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How is body fat estimated?
It uses the US Navy circumference method. Enter your height plus neck, waist and hip measurements and the formula estimates your body fat percentage.
How do I measure correctly?
Use a soft tape measure on bare skin. Measure the neck below the Adam's apple, the waist at the navel, and the hips at the widest point, keeping the tape snug but not tight.
How accurate is the result?
It is a solid estimate for most adults, typically within a few percentage points of lab methods. It is less reliable for very muscular builds or during pregnancy.
What is a healthy body fat percentage?
General fitness ranges are roughly 10 to 20 percent for men and 18 to 28 percent for women, varying with age and goals.
Is the body fat calculator free?
Yes. It is free to use with no signup and no limits. Results are estimates for personal tracking, not medical advice.
